How it's Made: ARAUCO Particleboard and TFL
Much goes into creating quality ARAUCO particleboard and thermally fused laminate (TFL) panels. Quality control is critical in every step of the sophisticated manufacturing process, which begins with 100% recycled and/or recovered wood chips and shavings.

The story behind the Chile Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015
Architects Cristián Undurraga and Sebastián Mallea, who designed the Chile Pavilion, built with ARAUCO timber, talk about the story behind the conceptualization and development of this Pavilion and how they met the challenge of capturing the motto: “The Love of Chile” in their architectural design proposal.
The Chile Pavilion’s 2,000 m2 provide the visitor with the unique experience of visiting Chile, to learn about its landscape, people and products during the Pavilion’s five themes: Territory, People, Fruits, The Cube and The Chilean Table.
The use of laminated timber as the Chile Pavilion’s building material and characterization feature is in line with the sustainable context embraced by the International Exposition. Timber has sensorial and tectonic value and is also an ecological, aesthetic and renewable resource, as well as highly energy efficient.
Expo Milano 2015 includes over 140 participating countries, and will remain open to the public from May 1 to October 31.
